About the Chief

 

Chief Kevin LaRocco was born and raised in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. He attended Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School followed by Becker College, and Cape Cod Community College. Chief LaRocco began with Wellfleet Police Department in 2007 as a reserve officer in 2007 and then took on a full-time dispatcher until spring of 2011, at which point Chief LaRocco attended and graduated in the 53rd MPOC at Plymouth Police Academy and was promoted to full-time Patrol Officer. In September 2017, promoted to the rank of Sergeant position. In March 2020 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. In April of 2023 he was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief and in December of 2023 promoted to the rank of Chief of Police.

Chief LaRocco enjoys spending his free time with family, snowmobiling, and camping.
